From the Beginning

As far back as I can remember I have loved to create. From my youngest days I made creations from many different things around the house. My Grandpa McLean's shirts used to come back from the laundry in beautiful white boxes that I could turn into trains with some scissors and string. I'm not sure where the ideas came from but there are some memories of Ding Dong School and Captain Kangaroo which come to mind. I'm sure the start of trying to grow carrot tops and potatoes by putting them in some water suspended by toothpicks came from one of these programs. The memories of these early times also involve being at Grandma and Grandpa's.

It's hard to describe the feeling one gets from creating. It is definitely a good feeling, very pleasureable, while making that special something, but also when the project is completed! This journey of creating is like a ribbon which has woven itself throughout my life, in a million ways. My intent for this blog is for it to be a place for like-minded people to articulate and share their own creations. It may involve sharing stories about how, why, and what we create. It might be a waterpainting one day or a new recipe the next!

If you are one of those people who just doesn't feel whole without working on some creation every day, come join in on the fun. It's going to be a great ride!
